Real meaning of 'republic'

As India celebrates its 74th republic Day on 26 January 2023, we all as Indians aspire to be more responsible and progressive citizens of our lovely country India. It is the moment of pride also because our flag will be hosted by shrimati Draupadi Murmu, first tribal women President of India.

What is the history..

India became a republic nation on 26 January 1950. The first president of India was Sri Rajendra Prasad, the man who left his illustrative barrister career to participate in Indian freedom movement. He along with many leaders such as Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh Chandrashekhar Azad and many others took our country away from the hands of Britishers in their own respective ways.

But after the independence, it was like an impossible task for the leaders to constitute a huge country with so many cultures and languages to a well written constitution. However, the constituent assembly performed marvelously to complete the Indian constitution within the span of two and half years. Mr BR Ambedkar who played a vital role in making our constitution both flexible and rigid at the same time. He was the chairman of the 'drafting committee' of the constitution. Meanwhile Mr Jawaharlal Nehru headed many committees of Union in the constituent assembly. All the leaders in the constituent assembly made sure that the actual power remains in the hands of 'the people of India'. The constituent assembly first held its meeting on 9th December, 1946 and it completed the constitution on 26th of November, 1949. The constitution day of India is celebrated on 25th of January every year to upload the leaders who made our constitution one of the "greatest" in the world.

Role of media towards our republic nation..

In this recent times, we often hear many debates on the social media as well as the television about Hindu-Muslim controversies and issues related to their believes and arguments in favour or against the religion. This kind of debates make public divided on the basis of their preferred religion and beliefs which is not good for republic and democratic nation like India. Both the digital and print media should be aware of their duties towards journalism and the constitution of India.  The media should not give their by opinions and target a particular religion just for their TRP and views they should understand that journalism is the fourth pillar of the nation. Journalists and media persons represent our country to the international forums also. So, we as Indians, should hope that media does not ruin the dignity of our nation in front of international media and people. At the same time, media must focus on the problems of common people of India and questions the government to resolve their problems. The media should dare to 'question' the central and state government which are in power. It should also highlight the good things done by the government and appreciate the government for that but but at the same time this would report honestly on the problems of the common people and the government schemes which are not implemented sincerely by the officers and politicians. The media should act neutral towards every matter so both sides of the matter to the public.

Role of the governments..

Both the central and state government plays vital role in 'transforming' the lives of the people. The thought with which our freedom fighters and leaders of the constituent assembly made the constitution should not be forgotten by the new generation leaders. The beauty of our constitution which makes India a united and sovereign nation despite of different culture and languages should be maintained. Peace and the idea of  'brotherhood' should with preference of the governments. The implementations of government schemes should be on time and easy to understand for the common man. The main focus should be on education, reducing inflation, employment and infrastructure so that even a man in the last row gets profit of the schemes.

Role of the public...

The role of public in the 'republic' is must. It is the public of any nation which actually represents the nation. So, we as a responsible people of India, should remember the sacrifices of freedom fighters, soldiers and all other armed forces made to make this country a peaceful place to live in. We should not fight in the name of religion, cast, culture and sex. All the great leaders wanted our country to be free and sovereign wether he was Mahatma Gandhi Subhash Chandra Bose or Bhagat Singh. Their idologies might be different but the aim was same, that is to see our country 'free' and people of India in a 'peace' loving nation.

To conclude..

So, whoever we follow and which ever religion we follow, the main aim as the citizen of this great nation Bharat is to respect every citizen of India and their respective religion, culture and gender. Then only we can fulfill the dream of being a prosperous and developed 'republic'.

Jai Hind 🔥🇮🇳
