The bhojpuri film industry : the untold story

Introduction

Bhojpuri cinema, also known as Bhojiwood, has been a popular regional film industry in India for decades. With a significant following in the states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand, Bhojpuri films have entertained audiences with their unique blend of drama, music, and dance. However, in recent years, the Bhojpuri film industry has seen a decline, with the emergence of new forms of entertainment, such as digital content, leading to a decrease in the number of films being produced.

Understanding the Decline of Bhojpuri Cinema

One of the main reasons for the decline of Bhojpuri cinema is the rise of digital content. With the increasing popularity of streaming platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Hotstar, more and more people are choosing to watch content from the comfort of their own homes. This shift in consumption habits has led to a decrease in the number of people attending cinemas, which, in turn, has had a negative impact on the Bhojpuri film industry.

Another factor contributing to the decline of Bhojpuri cinema is the changing tastes of audiences. In recent years, there has been a rise in the number of films and TV shows that focus on social issues and realistic storytelling. This shift in preferences has made it more difficult for Bhojpuri films, which are known for their over-the-top drama and melodramatic storylines, to attract audiences.

Finally, the quality of Bhojpuri films has also been a factor in their decline. Many Bhojpuri films are criticized for their poor production values, such as subpar sound and lighting, as well as for the lack of innovative storytelling. This has made it difficult for Bhojpuri films to compete with other regional and national film industries in India.

Also, the lead Hero of Bhojpuri cinema are not "trained" actors has most of them are singers turned actors, that is why the plant difficult or challenging rule and happened to repeat the same over the top heroic rules in the movies again and again.

The Emergence of Album Culture in Bhojpuri Music

Despite the decline of the Bhojpuri film industry, the Bhojpuri music industry has continued to thrive, with album culture becoming increasingly prevalent. Albums in the Bhojpuri music industry are collections of songs that are released as separate audio recordings. These albums are typically marketed and sold through music shops and online platforms like YouTube and receive millions of views and they are even in the trending section of the YouTube

One of the reasons for the success of album culture in Bhojpuri music is the popularity of Bhojpuri songs. Bhojpuri music is known for its catchy beats, upbeat lyrics, and use of traditional instruments, such as the dhol and harmonium. These songs are enjoyed by audiences across all ages and have become an integral part of the cultural fabric of the region.

Another factor contributing to the success of album culture in Bhojpuri music is the ease of access to Bhojpuri songs. With the rise of digital platforms, it has become easier for people to discover and purchase Bhojpuri music online. This has made it possible for Bhojpuri music to reach a wider audience and for album culture to thrive.

The government's role

Recently, there was news that the 'Film City' is going to set up in Bihar and U.P by the chief ministers of the respective States. That is very good news for the local actors and other artist who want to show the talents in this field. Along with this the government should also focus on the acting skill and financial conditions of the actors and suit give them proper training of acting and theatre before allowing them to join the Bhojpuri film industry. They may setup an 'acting school' within the Film City for the betterment of this industry

Conclusion

In conclusion, the Bhojpuri film industry has seen a decline in recent years, with the rise of digital content and the changing tastes of audiences being among the main reasons. However, the Bhojpuri music industry has continued to thrive, with album culture becoming increasingly prevalent. Despite the challenges facing the Bhojpuri film industry, the popularity of Bhojpuri music and the continued success of album culture show that Bhojpuri culture and traditions continue to have a strong influence in the region.

The government should open "film schools" and theatres for the aspiring actors and film makers show that they can perform exceptionally well in their films and make us proud on national and international platform just like this South industries has the tremendously well  in recent years.
